The norms you were socialized into depends on history. Men who were socialized years ago are different than women who were socialized ie : people in different cultures and people that occupy of different race, class, gender, sexuality, and religious social locations are socialized differently. Two types: primary (early years of life) and secondary socialization (learning after childhood) years ago. Socialization is a social process that helps us develop important skills and values. Agents of socialization are the social institutions and structured relationships within which socialization takes place. Most important agents include family, school, peer groups and mass media. What is the worst thing you could be when you grow up in society . Shows how agents such as mass media can have a major impact on our socialization.
