Racialization- the habit of putting people into racial or ethnic categories. The way race is produced and bestowed on people by institutional social actions. We ha(cid:448)e (cid:272)reated (cid:862)ra(cid:272)e(cid:863) (cid:271)y perfor(cid:373)i(cid:374)g the idea of ra(cid:272)ial differences. Racism is used to justify the exploitation of another group. Race- genetic differences that produce distinctive variations in appearance that are endowed with social importance. The ter(cid:373) (cid:862)(cid:448)isi(cid:271)le (cid:373)i(cid:374)orities(cid:863) is losi(cid:374)g a(cid:272)(cid:272)epta(cid:374)(cid:272)e i(cid:374) ca(cid:374)ada (cid:271)e(cid:272)ause it: reinforces a belief that whiteness is not visible (it is!, may promote stigmatization of certain (non-white) groups. Ethnic community: is a group of people with common ancestry, often living together in a defined geographic location, but an ethnic group is an imagined community. Ethnicity refers to perceived social and cultural characteristics people are believed to share. Ethnic differentiation results in social inclusion and exclusion. People who experienced exclusion took more risks than those who experienced inclusion. Collection of past exclusion is sufficient to produce risk-tasking behavior.
