Document Summary
Soc313 essay: part 1 - different theories on prostitution (i. e. why ppl enter), look at the literature and how laws have changed internationally. Based on what you talk about, find the best policy for canada. Part 2 borrow from different countries for a unique strategy. Part 1 + 2 are worth the same, also clarity of analysis i. e. grammatical things. No: prohibiting use of a drug does not stop usage, rather people turn to illegal means that can be dangerous. The final price also skyrockets when drugs are illegal: black market drug funds finance dangerous groups such as gangs, mafias, isis (i. e. heroin, opium), making drugs illegal in poor countries creates drug wars such as in colombia. Growing drugs such as coca is more profitable than legal substances, therefore making them illegal creates huge deficits, poverty, funds criminals, etc. Drug trafficking is the biggest threat to the us today: criminalizing drugs leads to an aggressive style of policing.
