Enormous variaions all around the world in what"s deserving of a death penalty. Special circumstances : 36 countries retain the death penalty. Punishment is, above all, a moral process, which funcions to preserve the shared values and normaive convenions on which social life is based: not about deterrence ; an eye for an eye. Punishment draws on support from the moral seniments of the community: the support is what coninues these moral values. Punishment re-airms and strengthens the moral order on which it is based: the emoional reacion that builds up from a rejecion of moral values, collecive conscience. Death penalies very common, many capital crime laws. List of other non-violent capital crimes in saudi arabia: carjacking, burglary, fornicaion, sediion, sexual misconduct (not clearly deined, thet (fourth convicion) Social media brings atenion to many of these capital punishments/execuions.
