Theories are ways for us to organize and make sense of what we have observed. All theories are models, each offers a set of lenses to notice something one has maybe not noticed before. Don"t be dismissive: we often think that we are right and work hard to convince others that we are, when someone disagrees with you, listen and see why they think a different way than you. Idiographic explaining one case in great detail. Nomoethic explaining a set of cases using a handful of factors. Uses factors such as cultural background, popular culture, and time period to make sense of the cases that are studied.
