Last week we talked about racial inequality and next week is class inequality. Nurses tend to be women, engineers tend to be men- this is not due to an inborn characteristic. Females can do math just as well/better or worse than their counterparts, depending on their home country. Sometimes females are kept at home to help around the house, academics are not held as highly for some of them. Registered nurses (bachelor in nursing)= better of the nurse types * By the grade 8 level, girls have closed the gap in science and math, performing aswell and sometimes better than their male classmates. Educators try to attract more women to technology and science. In developing countries, women are more involved in stem. Gender gap is not as obvi, women are doing well or better than males. Canadian girls are discouraged by gender and norms and occupational stereotypes.
