Important gure: changed the way we think about media. Mcluhan: the medium is always more important than the message. > not always true: sometimes the info is more important than the message. Mcluhan believed the medium completely overshadows the message: its not important what you"re saying, it"s just important how you"re saying it. The medium you use changes our values, relationships, etc. Not being aware of how you"re using a medium, it can possibly hurt you. If not aware, we become pawns of technology, not the way tech is used > the way tech uses us (we end up re ecting what it wants us to do) Communication used to be one kind of thing, but it has changed now. Media has a profound and deep impact. There"s cause and effect (things follow other things) Certain words follow other words and present a sentence/message. Everything follows one after another (it"s logical/ordered) to make a point.
