*the definition of world becomes an important and messy bump in cosmology, some would believe planets are worlds, whereas others would claim that kosmoi and worlds are interchangeable. In the 17th century, worlds became specific bodies that could be seen through a telescope - 17th century scholars who supported pluralism were not affirming a plurality of self-contained systems infinitely existing in space, but instead a plurality of inhabited planets orbiting a plurality of suns. The world and its prisons - the curious case of johannes kepler. Kepler is most known for his laws of planetary motion - planets orbit the sun in ellipses rather than circles as the first law. Kepler believed that our sun was the centre of a finite universe. Kepler also states that bruno must be false because astronomy should be limited to observable phenomenon and one cannot observe infinite worlds.
