Sex differences & changing ideas of gender. How has science played a role in constructing how we think about sex. Transnational feminism pays attention to differences @ same time it promotes sameness transnational = movement among boundaries (process of globalization has allowed this on grand scale) imposition of borders. New forms of alliances across national boundaries that are made possible by media & tech, & make new political movements. E. g. arab social media movement: social media are tools for change, do not create change themselves. Pays attention to inequalities & diffs that arise from new forms of globalization: e. g. 1%- so looking @ issues w/ poverty: showing feminism is much broader than we think- using intersectional analysis, missing the issue of disability. Kinds of issues that that scientific group wanted to address may not include all . Conscious that it is not neutral- governed by social conventions of the day.
