Necropolitics - quiet kind of violence - violence seems quiet for those who are not experiencing that kind of violence. These systems have real effects - they kill people. Racism - to make people of colour and depressed and disconnect from their communities, themselves. Mundane, normal moments are slow, social deaths - slow dying. Biopolitics: state mechanisms and systems of power, control, and discipline that extend over the material (bodily, corporeal,) and political (self-determination, subjectivity, agency, community) lives of its population. Necropolitics: the use of technologies of material, and violence to produce a class of the living dead.
