Final: cumulative but weighted towards second half: mc, short answer, few longer answers. Nuisance and phobias (e. g. bedbugs feed on blood but do not cause disease). Venoms and allergens (e. g. beetles, urticating caterpillars, bee stings, dust mites, frequently handled insects. Insects and other arthropods that cause and vector diseases. Cause disease: scabies mites (arthropods): burrow into skin, oviposit, cause intense itching, highly communicable, may be confused with other sin ailments, delusory parasitoids. Myasis burrowing fly maggots (calliphoridae, scarcophagidae, muscidae, oestridae). Human bot fly: females don"t locate vertebrate hosts, instead glue their eggs on carrier blood- feeding flies, eggs hatch very rapidly (induced by high temperature of the vertebrate host). Mechanical transfer: no replication of pathogen in vector (e. g. rabbit myxoma virus vectored by mosquitoes, house fly transferring surface bacteria), vector as dirty needle". Biological transfer: much more specialized, specific associated, pathogen replication occurs within vector and transfer requires vector, parasite and host.
