Document Summary

Cytoskeleton play important role in the cell. It can turn over in micro seconds so every time the cell divide it have to break and rebuild itself. Cytokinesis this is the final stage in cell division that is driven in actin mediated process. Organelles movement also dependent on cytoskeleton and it keeps the cell held together. It also plays role in development in embryo. Some pollen in plants have cytoskeleton that helps it to move also in sperm. During development cells have to move between other cells and communicate with other cells. In plant cell cytoplasmic streaming moves material around the cell. Fig 16-2, when a cell has to go through mitosis everything have to change and actin and tubules have to move and microtubules pulls the two parts of the cell away. This is telephoase of mitosis where all the filaments are gone. The break down and reassembly is very fast. All cytoskeleton components are polymers of soluble proteins.
