Document Summary

Central tendency: purpose is to get an idea about the centre, or typicality, of a distribution; different ways to do this. Summary stat that provides a measure of the centre of a distribution. Each tell us different info, each is more appropriate to use in certain circum- stances. Mean: calculated by adding all the scores in a distribution and dividing the sum by the number of scores.
