KINE 3020 Lecture Notes - Lecture 4: Likert Scale, Perfectly Clear, Taste
Document Summary
Measuring ability is important for workbook as a baseline measure. Ability questionnaires examine self-reported quality of the image. Four measures: miq-r, vmiq-2, siam, miams. Focus on visual and kinesthetic or a combo of the two. 7 point likert scales, from 1 to 7. Visual imagery scale (very easy to see to very hard to see) Kinesthetic imagery scale (very easy to feel to very hard to feel) Sample item starting position, describes action, mental task, and then you have to rate it. There is a miq for older population in a seated position. Asked the same 12 actions for each dimension (ex. Running, kicking a stone, bending to pick up a coin) Not physically performing a task first, because there are all very common tasks, people can retrieve the info from memory on how perform it. Advantages over miq-r: splits visual into internal and external, uses known movements, tasks are slightly more complex.
