Are Kids Just Like Computers?
-Brain is like a computer and the components of a computer also exist in the mind !
-Computer has an input device and must come up with a solution/action !
-Working memory development is over at age 15!
-Central executive = conscious processing !
Attention: keep on task, tune out distractions!
Memory: remember where we are nested in scenarios !
Speed: work through scenarios faster !
Organization: choosing, using, and switching strategies!
Metacognition: thinking about thinking, evaluating one’s strategy !
-each process develops its own trajectory, continuously !
