Fibers which are crossing the midline (neuraxis) called pyramidal. Fibers are running across the neuraxis pyramids (corticospinal fibers: corticospinal fibers start in the cortex and end in the spinal cord. Inferior colliculi i a n m e g i r d a u q a r o p r o. Gracile fasciculus: pulvinar nuclei of the thalamus at the top (rostral end, lateral and medial geniculate for visual and auditory sensory input, midbrain, large bodies called the corpora quadrigemina. Superior and inferior colliculi: visual reflexes in superior colliculi, auditory reflexes in inferior colliculi, these reflexes occur w/out having to use the cerebral cortex, pons, see a diff view of that middle cerebellar peduncle. Its made up of fibers on the ventral surface that are crossing the midline: makes connections between the cerebellum and the pons, middle = middle section of brainstem (pons)
