Describe the relevant osteology of the upper limb: Each upper limb articulates with the trunk at the pectoral or shoulder girdle. Consists of a clavicle anteriorly and scapula posteriorly. Pectoral girdle with associated muscles forms the shoulder. Medial end of each clavicle joins the sternum (sternoclavicular joint) and the 1st rib - anteriorly. Note: sternoclavicular joint is the only bony joint, scapula is floating. Describe the relevant osteology of the upper limb including: pectoral girdle, humerus, radius, ulna, wrist, and hand. Extends horizontally across the thorax, on the anterior surface. Sternal end (medial end) attaches to the manubrium of the sternum. Flat acromial end (lateral end) attaches to the scapula. Clavicle is convex from the anterior view (the medial 2/3"s) Superior part is smooth while the inferior surface is rough. Inferior side connects with ligaments and muscles that attach the clavicle to the rib cage and scapula.
