Kidneys are where the blood is filtered and urine is produced. Then urine goes through ureter to go to urinary bladder (a muscular sac) And then micturition is under similar regulation to defecation; urinate through urethra. We can see how the urinary and genital system are intertwined depending on sex. Often we talk about the urogenital system in one big package. You want to filter blood to get rid of nitrogenous waste as if it builds up it becomes toxic. If kidneys are malfunctioning you tend to have bp problems. Hilum: where bvs and ureters come in and out. But when we do remove the peritoneal lining we reveal the kidneys which are connected to. Kidney stones are concs of salts that can block this whole system, and tend to block at the ureter. There are specific regions of the ureter where kidney stones tend to get lodged. Post surf is lined up against post body wall.
