Glue like proteins need ca2+ to stay together, so remove that to separate. Cells supplied with proper nutrients, serum, and grown at 37oc in a co2 incubator. Cells grow as adherent cell cultures or suspension cell cultures. In suspension, cells just sit at bottom and don"t do very well (require mechanical agitation) Co2 tanks contribute 5% co2 to cell incubator. Primary cell culture refer to cells taken directly from an organism. Contact inhibition - cells don"t divide anymore (divide until touching up against each other)
