Lots of vesicles form bw membrane stacks of golgi: after they are made and modified in the rer you want to go to the golgi apparatus. How proteins move through the golgi we don"t really understand. Cisternal maturation; seems like cisterna maturing throughout but maybe they don"t. We don"t really know how things move from cis to trans golgi (from bottom to top) Vesicles move er golgi and golgi er. Proteins passing through the golgi are targeting to differ things. The targeting at other end is not well understood. How things are secreted is not well understood. Important structure which contain hydrolases or digestive enzymes: very important for breaking down proteins. Consists of flattened, disklike, cisternae with no ribosomes: vesicles at cisterna tips fuse or pinch off, three types of cisternae (cis, medial, and trans) and two flanked networks of tubules: cgn faces.
