Since we know proportion of dna inherited by fa(cid:373)il(cid:455)"s we can fio genes. Similar gene-gene and gene-environment when looking at families compare to general pop. Look at individuals affected and then look at match control (ex same se(cid:454)/age but do(cid:374)"t have disease) Risk ration dependent on certain relationship. If you have sibling with schitzo you have a 12x greater risk than general population. Have to include prevalence of general pop cause still likely for pop to get it quant many genes w/ this phenotype. Only outliers on ends of bell curves where we have abnormal part of curve. Normal for most complex quantitative traits normal is very broad for these traits. Can see slight change in curves based on age. When correlated within families shared genetic or environmental component.
