General global distribution of hiv infections: most prevalent in sub-sahara africa. General temporal trends in hiv infection rates: the number of people living with hiv and the hiv caused deaths are still increasing despite the incredible amount of research that is being invested. Factors that explain why no cure or universal vaccine has been developed for hiv/aids: the disease mutates quickly, and when scientists become close to a cure, the disease changes too rapidly to keep up. Reasons why viruses are not considered alive : for an organism to be considered alive , it must be cellular in itself, whereas a virus must inhabit a host cell in order to live.
