Humans use this: continuous-flow reactor w/ mixing: new meals mix with meals that have already processed a bit. Advantages of chewing with regards to increasing sa to aid chemical digestion. We chew with teeth (mammals/vertebrates do), but it"s very diverse depends on the kind of food they eat. Generalized placental mammal (like humans): have incisors, canine teeth, and premolars, and molars. Depending on the evolutionary path animals have taken, they"ve lost a lot of those and/or accentuated other ones. E. g. beavers eat wood from trees and cut them down by very big incisors, and they grind them up after with molars; these incisor teeth keep growing (ours stop) E. g. carnivores: order of mammals, defined by 2 teeth: upper premolar 4 (p4), and lower molar. 1 (m1) (carnassial pair); molars of beaver and molars of cow are used for grinding, but carnivores have sharp molars.
