One person can"t be responsible for everything- too time consuming. There are formal and informal structures involved, but responsibilities still fall within the hierarchy: divisional structure. Works for large companies who have more than one product and need to market all of them. Each product/technology has it"s own division: matrix structure. Based on divisional structure but allows for cross functional integration within different divisions. Means you can have two bosses on the same projects. Evolution of divisional structure, expands on relationships. Leaders are good speakers, mobilizers, inspirational, charismatic, etc. Leadership can come from different parts and inner features. Steve jobs, steven harper, martin luther king jr. Power can come through structure (i. e. getting a promotion to a leadership role) Evaluate what you can do and the scope of decisions you can make.
