A lot of deaths associated with coal-burning for energy production (from coal mining). Chernobyl was the only fuckup for nuclear (which was terrible) Fossil fuel formation: usual decomposition process halted due to water, organisms trapped & compressed as sediments moved on top, lignin mineralized over millions of years of heart + pressure turned into coal, animals end up as oil. Coal: abundant in many parts of the world.
