Civil and Environmental Engineering 2220A/B Lecture Notes - Lecture 12: Engineering Drawing
Document Summary
Often the most difficult thing is not the analysis, but it"s rather the communication of that design to someone else. That could be the owner, the architect, any inspectors and then (maybe most importantly) the contractor. We have to be very thorough in our communication in order to make sure that our deisgn intent is understood. One of the most effective methods of communication is specification and drawing. Depending on the project may types of construction drawings may be required. A typical drawing would vary depending on the project you are working on. It"s likely that you will have a set of drawings depicting everything you need. Plan view of the site with elevations, contours, batural features and the proposed structure.
