Luxury items; trade renewed -> clearly coming outside of greek (economy has improved since greece is trading outside for luxuries) Homer and oral poetry: travelling barb (men) singing with kitharis -> travelling performers from community to community, sing and play a harp like instrument, and aristocrats paid them (considered to be the greatest)
