As they left they would pelt the bride and groom with nuts and say insulting things about the husband, it was said to bring good luck. The husband would carry the wife over the door step, then the wife would go get fat from the cupboard and smear fat over the door. They would spend the first night in the atrium, which was the central room of the house. The father still owns the property any kids.
