Household consumption choices are constrained by its income and the prices of the. The budget line describes the limits to the household"s consumption choices. Example: lisa has to spend, the price of a movie is and the price of pop is a case. The rows of the table show combinations of pop and movies that lisa can buy with her . She can afford any of the combinations at points a-f. Some goods are indivisible and must be brought in whole units at the points market (such as movies). Other goods are divisible and can be bought in any quantity (such as gasoline) The line through points a-f is the budget line which is a constraint on her consumption choices. She can afford anything inside the line and cant afford anything outside the line. We can describe the budget line by using a budget equation.
