Released the power of the atom, the power of flight. It refers to a kind of elegance, but also an object that adorns the throat. But on a more metaphorical level, it can be attributed to the voice. Its gorgeous, it is beautiful but reticence and the hesitation is the remaining silence. A hesitation to speak, to make oneself known. She"s taking the etymology of the necklace and bringing it back into the problem of speech. Ekphrasis has to deal with this kind of un-decidability. Its meant to evoke the appearance of something that in some sense remains obscure to us. A guidebook - they aren"t necessarily reliable, and they aren"t a replacement for the experience itself. She is simultaneously commenting on any number of clich s about the moon that have been written up to that point and now she"s going to ironize and contemplate them. Okay its going to be a party, and there"s going to be sinner.
