Haiti is seen as a dangerous place, americans don"t want these people coming. Dandicat used the legal system to find out what happened to her uncle. He has vomited and urinated on himself because he hasn"t had his meds. The medics think he is faking a seizure. The white doctor who went to school for this accuses him of faking. He dies alone without any family, being treated cruelly by government. When the policeman waits outside where the father dies the family wonders if this is standard.
