Design a mean of recycling plastic bags that minimizes its effect on the environment. Our goal is to design a mean of recycling plastic bags that minimizes the effect it has on the environment. Plastic bags are recyclables but they are not recycled because of its weight. The plastic bags are too light and due to that it is not included in the processes of recycling materials. Using stronger and heavier materials it would make the plastic bag be included into the recycling program. The materials used to make plastic bags are decomposable but the only problem is that it would take at least 450-1000 years (depending on the type of plastic bag) for it to completely decompose in a landfill. With plastic bags taking that long to decompose it causes major damages on aquatic environments. Animals would mistake plastic bags as food and their bodies are not able to break it down and can cause starvation or malnutrition.
