Life would not be possible w/o the greenhouse effect! Solar radiation hits earth, re ected back into atmosphere. Some is released, but some remains trapped because of greenhouse gases in troposphere. Increase in grennhouse gases in troposphere b/c of people. More heat is tapped in the troposphere, less heat released. Many greenhouse gases were at 0 levels before industrial revolution. Rice grown in water, billions of people rely on rice! When harvested, organic compounds left in water broken down by bacteria--->those bacteria release methane. As populations grow, rice patties must grow, therefore methane grows. Some nutrients move to water, other moves to air. Nitrogen can compound to no and released into atmosphere. Weather is short term->what"s going to happen tomorrow. B/c climate is long term, very dif cult to make accurate predictions. Global air circulation, water circulation, amount of solar energy. As air warms, it begins to move up.
