But back in those days, the sea levels were low and the land was exposed) This land was exposed because sea level was much lower at the time (climate was colder, more ice leads to less water) These first people were known as paleo-indians (first indigenous people) American indian tribes: trade among groups began about 10,000 years ago; from this point onward, people were referred to as indians.
