Tourism is the active utilization of gateways of discovery to expand ones engagement with the world. Specific place is different than generic space unexpected and the unknown. The here and now is always contextualized by an awareness of the landscape with which we engage. The environmental, economic and social dynamics of space and place at any point in time. Lifelong learning is the journey of discovery to enlightenment: an awareness of the myriad of landscapes through which we: Therou(cid:454) m(cid:455) desti(cid:374)atio(cid:374) (cid:449)as (cid:373)erel(cid:455) (cid:373)(cid:455) e(cid:454)cuse to take the trip: one of the paradoxes of otherness is that in travel each conceives the other to be a foreigner. It has nothing to do with the distance or the exotic. The whole point of travel is discovery, and few experiences can match the satisfaction of such an extraordinary discovery near home. Travel had to do with movement and truth: with trying everything, offering yourself to experience and then reporting on it.
