Tourism has both an effect and an affect on: Using comparative examples from our collective experiences and world views. Tractability (some problems are more easily resolved than others) Politicians avoid these (hard to solve so they have no big accomplishments when working with them) =modify effect or response (minimize cost and max benefits; max positive sides of tourism and min the negatives ones) Different expectations of what experience should be, so you wont mitigate for everyone. Can we define tourism as a business (doesn"t conform to the literal definition of "business") Doesn"t easily fit because the final product is the experience. Unconventional business (different business that your standard business module) The consumer must be involved in creating the experience. How does this affect tourism as a business. Ownership (of control): control over scale, extent, who gets the revenue. Why is tourism a popular economic strategy for government. In most places/ landscapes, tourism is not distributed equally.
