Document Summary

They have an angle, a profile shape, made of different materials, has different processes that move material or water across the landscape, therefore changing the geometry of the slope. We get this fundamental idea that the morphology of the landscape effect the processes that occur on it. What is going on in the landscapes that create this morphology. Water is involved in mass movements in many ways: impact of rain drops on slope (rain splash, water running over the slope (slope wash, incisions in gullies. Falls- abrupt, downward movement of rock or earth that detach from steep slopes or cliffs. Rotational slump- mass fails under its own weight, and it rotates. Rock slide, rock fall, rock flow (rare), debris slide, debris fall, debris flow: varying velocity, and varying size/range, also known as gradual and continuous motion. Rock topple/fall: essentially a rock falling off a slope. If it falls forward then it is considered a topple: erosion/transport/accumulation.
