Most agricultural advances came through italy and adapted to european needs before spreading to the rest of europe. Italian engineers were at the head of many advances: the best weapons, ways to control rivers. Italy was at the core of developing europe and expanding european interests by colonizing. Culture and fashion also came out of italy.
