Transformation of cultures made of man who"s inter-directed (self-dependent and use inter-personalities) into man who are outer-directed (1950s/1960s) Find validation and strength from other people define ourselves as part of group. Find sources of identity from other people no inner core. Dangerous b/c people losing their edge and unable to think outside of box. Stark distinction between what is and who used to be.
