Supposed to be a social leveler make germany a more equal society especially in regard to prestige of certain occupations- idea was they shouldn"t have to suffer from inferiority from someone cleaning street vs. doctor (diminished over time) Destruction of organized labour movement: german labour front"- masqueraded as trade union. Impact on various professions and trades- no universal impact must look on case by case basses for job/trade. Modeled after similar plan from 1920s in fascist russia. Improve experience of leisure (outside of city was normal, outside country almost unheard of) Kraft durch freude (kdf)- strength through joy. On-going friction between white and blue collar workers. Kdf cruise ships into norway etc. not tropical or anything. This was huge benefit to those individuals but didn"t have social leveling impact just translated occupational frictions from workplace and town/ city to the holiday camp cruise ship etc.
