The knights templar are obsessed about in popular culture: popular belief. One belief is they were massively wealthy. Another common thought is they survived secretly. The legends about them have existed longer than they were. Could only have emerged in the middle ages. Legends of the templars sprung up right about this group sprung up. These are military orders that contain men who have taken monastic vows, including poverty, chasity, and obedience. They existed to protect the church, defense of the faith. Emperor called upon the pope to send help and said because it was the home land of jesus, but the crusaders ended up turning on the emperor: knights templar was the first monastic order. Templars, hospitalars were across nations in europe, and the titanic knights which fought in western europe, mostly germany. They emerged because of the crusades, byzantine territories were captured by muslims: 1096-1099 first crusade was the most successful on, the templars emerged 20 years after.
