Igor gouzenko - soviet agent, who defected and brought documents to the allies, with proof of russian spy cells in canada. Investigation discovered that the spys were trying to obtain nuclear research. Many people begin to go after hollywood films and actors, blaming them for subliminally supporting communism. Many actors and filmmakers were subpoenaed into court and publicly questioned for support of communist ideals. Most of them went along with the proceedings, but some refused to cooperate with the infringements of rights.
