Despite this impending doom, there was little to no mass hysteria in england: 1803 napoleon rearms his military and decides to make an invasion move against england. He never got the chance because he was stopped from controlling the channel in the first place. For a number of years, hundreds of thousands of french troops were at england"s doorstep, but still no evident of mass panic or hysteria: 1940 operation sealion. Nazi plan to invade england, they had already taken france and had england in sight.
