Document Summary
Muscles of the pelvic girdle & lower limb. Everything lateral to it is the quadriceps muscle group. Obturator externus: depending on the position of the hip, it can be seen, originates off the external surface of obturator foramen, not part of this muscle group, part of medial thigh muscles. Femoral triangle/ navel: contains femoral artery, vein & capillary, duck underneath the sartorius & adductor longus, sit on top of the pectineus, formed by sartorius, adductor longus, inguinal ligament (asis down to pubic tubercle) If a portion of the adductor magnus is utilized, there could bae lateral rotation. Vastus lateralis: seen on lateral side of rectus femoris. Vastus medialis: medial to rectus femoris (aiis) Vastus intermedius: must move rectus femoris to see vastus intermedius, names hint where they originate off the femur. Posterior thigh/hamstrings: so named because distally the tendons feel/look like string, originate off the pelvis (ischial tuberosity)
