Cephalocaudal/proximodistal patterns are reversed so hands and feet grow rst and the trunk is usually the slowest part to grow. There is an increase in capacity for sustained physical effort. These changes are more marked in boys than girls but are happening in both. By 18-19 years 68% of teens have had sex. Females are more likely than males to report having sex without using a condom (37% vs. 27%)
