Chapter 2: models of development: nature and nurture in adulthood. Chapter 6: basic cognitive functions & chapter 7: the psychology of wisdom. Our stages of focus: middle adulthood (7): generativity vs stagnation: focus is on the psychosocial issues of procreation, productivity, and creativity. Generativity: the feeling that one should give back to society, the feeling of concern for the next generation. Could be just giving birth and caring for your child/ children. Stagnation: not really thinking of the next generation or giving back/forward, rather, turning the concern inward and solely thinking about one"s own age group. o. Late adulthood (8): ego integrity vs despair; focus is on psychosocial issues of aging and facing their morality. Ego integrity: those who establish a strong sense of ego integrity can look back on their experiences with acceptance, both the positive and negative aspects of life and self. One believes that their life is ending too quickly and hasn"t accepted the end of life.
