Igniting an agenda for health promotion for women: critical perspectives, evidence based practice and innovative knowledge translation. Health promotion is a set of strategic activities designed to positively influence health and quality of life: there are programs on both individual and population based levels. However: health promotion fails to integrate gender into its vision and practice, health promotion has never addressed how its theories and activities (cid:373)ay sustai(cid:374) ge(cid:374)dered for(cid:373)s of oppressio(cid:374) that (cid:272)o(cid:374)tri(cid:271)ute to (cid:449)o(cid:373)e(cid:374)"s health inequities. A recent report has been released stating that gender is one of the most influential sdoh: women"s health ge(cid:374)erally (cid:272)o(cid:373)pares fa(cid:448)oura(cid:271)ly to (cid:373)e(cid:374)"s i(cid:374) ter(cid:373)s of mortality, but wpmen experience more chronic diseases and disabilities. Health promotion would be more effective if they took gender into consideration: hence why this article talks about the need of a framework to develop it. The fra(cid:373)ework will grapple with (cid:862)what cou(cid:374)ts(cid:863) as evidence and effectiveness in health promotion.
