Document Summary
If we can measure these factors, then we are more likely to be able to predict the occurrence of injury. Cognitive appraisal the way we think about something. In order for stress to occur from the way we think about the situation, the demand of a situation must exceed one"s resource capabilities. When the demands are too high for the individual, it can result in stress. Physiological what happens to our body when we are under stress that can increase the likelihood of injury. Everybody has their own way of responding to stress (we aren"t all the same in reacting to stress), however some of the factors can happen in a similar way that indicate stress. Attentional as a general rule, individuals get tunnel vision and they narrow their attention. It"s likely a reciprocal relationship that is happening between these 2 pathways (cognitive appraisal and physiological/attention), meaning that they both affect each other and the person.
