What happens when there is a lesion to the lateral corticospinal tract. Persons with stroke often have difficulty performing daily living activities such as buttoning a shirt - they can only make a fist when manipulating objects. Motor cortex elicit simple movements (i. e. , a twitch) in response to mild electrical stimulation. M1 in the frontal lobe s1 is in the parietal lobe. Topographic representation is also observed in the somatosensory cortex which lies in the parietal lobe, the two areas lie adjacent to each other and have a similar topographic representation and cortical magnification. Reason that they line up like a puzzle so that there are short neural connections from the motor to the sensory, so the synaptic pathways are much shorter and there is more efficient communication. Labelling the brain, each number and letter is associated with a different action. Dysmelia a way of describing incomplete development, in this case of the upper limb.
