Right is the only part of the clock that he can see. Neglects things on the let side of his body. Had not shaved the let side of his face. Right hemisphere stroke impacts the parietal lobe. Not that they don"t see things in their let visual ield, they don"t direct they"re atenional resources to their let visual ield (imparability to direct atenion to contralesional side) Tms transcranial magneic simulaion, ipsilesional impaired parietal lobe. Ater tms for 20 minutes, no neglect for about 10 minutes. Change their visual environment, prism wedges (glasses), shited visual ield into impaired visual ield. Sensory informaion atained from external sources is detected and transformed into neurological signals. Neurological signals are mapped onto a meaningful event. E. g. , this baseball is approaching my face at a high rate of speed. No conscious simulus detecion, unconscious thought: patern recogniion. Extracing paterns are features from environmental simuli for use in later stages of info processing.
